About Bytes Bits Beams
Who We Are
Bytes Bits Beams is a woman-owned small endeavor to allow the owners some creative freedom and provide some eclectic products that others may enjoy. Bytes Bits Beams is not a large enterprise and not a full-time effort (at least not at this time). The business owner is supported by her husband – a veteran and former volunteer first responder – who provides technical support for software and website development, maintaining the equipment and just generally being in the way! (If you see any mistakes on this website, they’re his fault! Be sure to get in contact and let us know about the mistakes.)
We are just beginning our journey into the public eye. Bytes Bits Beams is taking baby steps as we try to increase our visibility, and at the same time ensure a maintainable scale and focused quality on any products made available.
Where We Are
We are location in East Tennessee about an hour and a half East of Knoxville and about an hour West of Asheville. We have lived here all our lives, and enjoy the relaxed, rural lifestyle. We do take occasional day trips to fuel our passions for various inspirations (and raw materials). We will visit wood suppliers, technology stores and other venues in which we share a general interest.
What We Are
We are a couple whereby each of us have a creative bent. We have overlapping interests, but we are different enough to have individual ideas and opinions. We will work together to research things we think we would enjoy. We then test those ideas and findings to see what we can produce. We fail. We try again. And sometimes we even succeed! Most of the things we create are done for ourselves. There have been a few situations where a creation will get interest from friends, family and co-workers. That sometimes leads to requests for single items, or on occasion multiple duplicate items.
We are kind and treat everyone with respect. We will make every effort to reconsile any issues with anyone.
We look forward to beginning this new journey in bringing our creations to life and sharing them with others.
What Else Are We Doing
Scratching the creative itch can be overwhelming at times. But we are exploring other capabilities that have some overlapping skills. For example, we have done some embroidery on garments and hats. We have experimented with vinyl cutting by designing some details for our truck. Both of these mediums require vector graphic design skills, and that is a skill we use in laser cutting and CNC work.
We have also done 3D printing as a hobby, and designing objects for 3D printing requires some CAD skills. The CAD skillset also transfers nicely to the CNC work.
